George Crawford

George Crawford has been working on pianos since 1973. He started his career with the music department at the University of North Carolina. He then moved to Santa Barbara California and worked for Kawai Piano. After moving to Boston in 1976 he worked for Lechmere Piano. George moved to Paris, France for one year to work for Bechstein Piano. Returning to Boston in 1978, George joined the Boston Piano Coop, where he pursued rebuilding further. He then worked for J.D. Furst Piano, The Boston Piano Works, and then worked with Joe Pagano for nine years at the Tremont Piano Shop. In 1992 he started Aardvark Piano Restorations. He has installed over 600 new piano soundboards. He specializes in rebuilding Steinway grand pianos.
